The 1036 standard strap half surface steel strap hinge with butt type pintle leaf for mounting to the inside of the frame. The 1036 standard hinge comes in disc and ball bearing variations, depending on the frequency of your door usage. It comes in 18", 24", and 36" lengths depending on the length of your door. The standard strap hinge is made of steel construction with a powder coat finish, while the pintle pin and bearings are zinc plated. The 1035 strap hinge comes with a pintle secured with a cotter pin. Fasteners not included.
Please consult the table below to determine the number of hinges needed for ordering. Important Note: The specified door weight and hinge moment must be less than or equal to the published values in the chart for the model of hinge used.
To calculate moment (ft#) the equation is width of door (ft) x weight of door (lb).
For example, a door width of 4.5' and 500lb = 2,250ft#. At 8' high, it requires 3 hinges and only can use the 36" disc or ball bearings for operation:
